Fort Lewis College

Higher Learning CommissionMark of AffiliationFort Lewis College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Every ten years, Fort Lewis College is reviewed by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools for reaffirmation of its accreditation. Engineering Physics Program

The Fort Lewis College Engineering Physics program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, the national organization that accredits engineering programs. This assures students that the degreed program prepares students to meet the quality standards established by the profession. This is the only accredited engineering program in western Colorado and the Four Corners region. The ABET accreditation process, for the new (as of September 2010) Bachelors of Science in Engineering (BSE) program, is in progress. 

Chemistry Program

Our Chemistry Program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS). ACS promotes excellence in chemistry education for undergraduate students through approval of baccalaureate chemistry programs. ACS-approved programs offer a broad-based and rigorous chemistry education that gives students intellectual, experimental, and communication skills to become effective scientific professionals.

School of Business

Our School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools, worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education.

Athletic Training Education Program

Currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education(CAATE), the Athletic Training Education Program at Fort Lewis College is an option in the Department of Exercise Science. The Athletic Training Education Program prepares students for certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) and employment as a certified athletic trainer.

Music Program

Our Music Program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Institutional Membership in NASM represents a strategic choice. It signifies a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the work of individual institutions and the work of the entire community of institutions that prepare musicians at the collegiate level. It signifies a willingness to connect with others, both in order to give and to receive. It signifies that individuals with high levels of musical capability, expertise, and experience must take leadership responsibility in accreditation and related areas lest a vacuum be created for non-musicians to fill. It signifies a pledge to continue what NASM has always done: seek optimum learning conditions for music students and develop the strength and quality of music in higher education by assisting institutional members and their faculties to do their best work.
