The mission of ASP is to help Fort Lewis College students meet and exceed academic standards.  To achieve these goals, we:

  • Network with other learning support programs on campus to find students the help they need.
  • Offer Fall and Winter Symposiums to help first-year students make their lives more manageable.
  • Offer small study groups for some of the most challenging lower-division Gateway and General Education classes on campus.  Check our website for Fall 2005 study groups.
  • Provide free training on assistive technologies for reading and writing, and books on tape for students with approved documented disabilities.
  • Secure academic accommodations.  If you have a documented disability, make an appointment with the Disability Services Coordinator for a personal and confidential interview to present your documentation, and to discuss and implement reasonable academic accommodations.
  • Provide Early Alert System intervention assistance for students who are struggling.
  • Hire and train faculty-recommended students as peer educators.  Once trained, students can earn CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certification.
