Janet Jones studies everyday capacities that we usually take for
granted—perception, language, memory, and thought. She approaches these
topics through cognitive science, which is the interdisciplinary study of
the human mind and brain. Dr. Jones is especially interested in specific disorders
of perception, language, and memory that are caused by brain damage. She
specializes in psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics, exploring the mental
and biological processes used in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
In addition, she has done extensive research in most areas of human memory.
Dr. Jones is the author of three books and several journal articles on
these topics. Her areas of greatest expertise include cognitive psychology,
psycholinguistics, and human neuroscience.
