Marilyn Leftwich’s areas of interest focus on expressive arts therapy,
including dance/movement therapy, art therapy, and music therapy. Dr.
Leftwich’s professional activities connect her with many human service and
health-related agencies in the Durango
area; developing collaborative partnerships involving Fort Lewis
College students with
community programs. She has recently instituted a partnership with
the 9HealthFair program connecting students with community health
providers. She has worked with persons with chronic mental illness and
developmental disabilities as well as active and institutionalized
elders. She is also interested in service learning (service in the
academic curriculum), efforts toward multicultural understanding, and
environmental action.
