I. PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to provide elevator access to the College Union Building (CUB).

II. GENERAL

An elevator in a secured area of Campus Dining Services, provides access to all three floors of the CUB to students with disabilities.

III. RESPONSIBILITY

FLC students identified by the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities as needing access to the CUB elevator because of a disability, will be brought over to the CUB for an orientation session. The orientation will acquaint the student(s) with how to access facilites in the CUB using the services elevator located in a secured area of the CUB Food Services. Following orientation, the student(s) will be responsible for any abuse of privilege and permitted access at all hours of CUB operation.

Until the year 2000, due to construction on grounds around the CUB, non-FLC students and guests with disabilities who need to access CUB events or services should park in Lot G between the CUB and Berndt Hall. The main point of entrance to the CUB will be the first floor, main entrance door across from Reed Library. Once inside the CUB, an employee at the Information Counter will provide assistance to an individual with a disability in arriving at a desired location.
