Fort Lewis College employs people using three different types of hiring procedures. Exempt staff positions are usually administrative in nature, are contractual and are filled using a search committee process. Faculty positions are teaching positions, are contractual and are filled using a search committee process for one year, non-tenure renewable, tenured and tenure-track positions. The Office of Academic Affairs assists each School in filling part-time faculty positions. Classified staff positions are support staff in nature and are filled using the State of Colorado Applicant Data System and State of Colorado hiring policies.

Announcements for exempt/administrative and faculty positions may be seen in the Chronicle of Higher Education, local newspapers and/or in the newspapers of surrounding metropolitan areas and other applicable trade publications and websites. Most announcements are also posted as Job Listings on the Fort Lewis College Job Listings page. Applications must be submitted as requested by the announcement for the specific position to be filled. The Office of Human Resources is not directly involved in faculty or exempt/administrative staff selection, but can assist you in locating the correct office for each vacancy.

Classified Staff
Selection process for Classified Staff is conducted by the Human Resources/Equal Opportunity Office. An application must be recorded in the State of Colorado Applicant Data System (ADS). You must be a Colorado resident to be considered for the applicant pool. Applications may be obtained at any Colorado Southwest Workforce Office, downloaded from this web site, the State of Colorado web site or at Fort Lewis College. You may apply for announced vacancies only. These are specifically announced on the State of Colorado Website under Employment - Job Opportunities . Applicants must have the required work experience and/or education to be admitted to the selection process.
