To Project a Video

Turn ON the projector by pressing the green power button on the grey remote control kept by the computer.  The projector is located in the back of the classroom in front of the projection booth and you may need to get close to the projector to turn it on. Make sure the red power button (top right corner) in the equipment rack (just to the right of the computer) is on. In the middle of the equipment rack is a switcher, select  the VCR button to project a Video. Do not press the remote control button labeled Video. If you have sound but no picture press the remote button labeled RGB. At the bottom of the equipment rack is the volume control. To turn off the projector aim the remote control at the projector & press the green power button for about a second.

Projecting a DVD

Make sure the red power button (top right corner) in the equipment rack (just to the right of the computer) is on. In the middle of the equipment rack is a switcher, select the DVD button to project the DVD player. Do not press the remote control button labeled Video. If you have sound but no picture press the remote button labeled RGB. At the bottom of the equipment rack is the volume control. DVDs can also be played using the computer DVD drive and selecting PC on the switcher. To turn off the projector aim the remote control at the projector & press the green power button for about a second.

Connecting a Laptop

You will need a special cable to connect the laptop to the interface panel. If there is not one already there contact Media Services (7115). The cable has a male 15 pin connector on one end that plugs into the laptop. The other end is a 9 pin female connector which plugs into the Aux Interface panel below in the equipment rack. Turn ON the projector with the remote control kept by the computer. The projector is located in the back of the classroom in the projection booth, and you may need to get close to the projector to turn it on. Make sure the red power button (top right corner) in the equipment rack is turned on. In the middle of the equipment rack is a switcher, select the Aux button to project a laptop. To turn off the projector aim the remote control at the projector & press the green power button for about a second.

Lights

There are dimmable incandescent lights in this classroom. The are two incandescent lighting control switches down in front of the classroom on far right side opposite  the computer. One of the incandescent switches has a tricky clear plastic switch at the top and bottom that turns lamps on/off as well as the dimmer slider control in the middle.

Slide Projector

There is are two slide projectors in the projection booth. A key to the projection booth can be checked out at Media Services (7417). The remote controls are plugged into the wall below the TV and next to the equipment rack.
