Moodle Course Development, Four Legs to Success
Overview here, contact Tom Schillaci for an in-depth discussion at 970-247-6056.
Think of online curriculum delivery as a table top, and the “course” is what you build on the table. Now think of the legs that would support that table. As a place to start when thinking of adding online delivery of instructional materials, here are four “legs” to the online course “table”.
-
Strong learning objectives and student learning outcomes
-
Assessment strategies tied to objectives and that measure outcomes
-
Course layout and design for logical user paths to content and tools
-
Strong, interactive communication with students
These are general guidelines to think about as you move forward. If one or more areas are not strong, the table is wobbly, and the student learning experience may suffer. Moodle is like a tray in a toolbox. We can work with strategies for how to effectively use these tools to build stronger online teaching and learning.
From 2001 to 2005, I was an Instructional Design Specialist for online courses at San Juan College in Farmington. I assisted instructors, staff and students in becoming familiar and comfortable using online instructional technologies. It is my goal to get you the training you need to be successful in your online delivery initiatives. Let's have lunch and talk about your options.
Thank you.
