Every year, the Alumni Association acknowledges the success of Fort Lewis College's finest alumni and others who have made the institution a success. These awards include:
Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award
Each year the Fort Lewis College Alumni Association bestows its highest honor to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding professional or personal achievements in their chosen field. Alumni, past and present employees, community leaders, friends and other constituents are eligible for this award.
Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to alumni who, by their distinguished service to the college, state or nation, have brought honor to Fort Lewis College and to him or herself. As many as five recipients may be selected each year from the following categories: the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the Teacher Education Department, and 'At-Large,' which is broadly selected from all former attendees of Fort Lewis College.
Community Leadership Award
Each year the Fort Lewis College Alumni Association may present the Community Leadership Award to an individual who has made an extraordinary commitment to a community, civic group, nonprofit organization, church, or other worthy cause. Fort Lewis College takes great pride in the community engagement done by faculty, staff, students and alumni, and encourages all constituents to become leaders wherever they live and work.
Bob Lundquist Award for Faculty/Staff Service to Alumni
The Fort Lewis College Alumni Association is thankful for the unsolicited help that faculty, staff and administrators do for FLC alumni. One person who demonstrated this throughout his academic career was former Learning Assistance Center Director Bob Lundquist. As such, the Alumni Association created the Bob Lundquist Award for Faculty/Staff Service to Alumni in his honor to recognize college employees who share his passion for FLC alumni. Current faculty, staff and administrators are eligible for this award, which was created in 2007.
Who is considered an alumnus or alumna?
An alumnus/alumna is any former student who has attended two or more semesters at Fort Lewis College.
