The Fort Lewis College Alumni Association Board of Directors elected Abby Driscoll, Russ Elliott, and Tim Bell as its officers for the 2007-08 academic year at the board’s annual meeting in the President’s Conference Room of Berndt Hall on Oct. 21.

Driscoll, who graduated from FLC in 2000 with a self-constructed bachelor’s degree in natural resource policy, will serve as president. She is a past student body president (1998-2000) who was active in the FLC Environmental Center. Driscoll lives in Washington, D.C., and works in the U.S. Senate Office of Bernard Sanders.

She has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2005. She was elected to serve a four-year term on Oct. 21, 2007.

Elliott, who graduated from FLC in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, will serve as vice president for the second consecutive year. He was active in cheerleading and intramurals as a student. Since graduating, he has remained active in the college and has served on the executive boards of the FLC Foundation, Skyhawk Booster Club, and Alumni Association. Elliott lives in Durango and works as president of Brainstorm Internet, the largest internet provider in the Four Corners.

He was elected to a four-year term on Oct. 15, 2006. Since Driscoll lives out-of-town, Elliott will represent her as needed at the monthly meetings of the FLC Foundation’s executive board.

Bell, who graduated from FLC in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in business and a minor in history, will serve his second term as treasurer. He previously served in that capacity during the 2005-06 academic year. As a student, Bell was active in ROCA, Bacchus, housing, and theatre. He works in Aurora as a sales consultant for Bell Plumbing and Heating.

In addition to his role as treasurer, Bell will serve as the Alumni Association’s immediate past president; he served as alumni president during the 2006-07 academic year.

Per the association’s bylaws, Bell will chair both the Finance Committee (as treasurer) and the Nominations Committee (as immediate past president).

The new officers assumed their duties immediately at the Oct. 21 meeting.

Per the association’s bylaws, Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund Chris Aaland (1991) will continue to serve as secretary and ex-officio board member.
