Office of Admission launches Alumni Ambassador program

The Fort Lewis College offices of Admission and Alumni Relations are pleased to announce the Alumni Ambassadors program. This new volunteer program aims to connect alumni and prospective students in an effort to promote Fort Lewis.

Competition for the best and brightest students is growing among academic institutions. The Alumni Ambassador program is designed to help the college increase enrollment, recruit a better-prepared student body, and maintain its high level of diversity. This will ensure that a Fort Lewis College degree remains a valuable and competitive advantage in the post-undergraduate world.

“The Alumni Ambassadors program is an easy way for FLC graduates to stay involved with the school and to share their enthusiasm with prospective students,” said Director of Admission Andy Burns.

Wherever they may live, Alumni Ambassadors can help the college by identifying and encouraging prospective students to consider Fort Lewis College as a higher education option. This kind of personal attention goes a long way in the college’s recruitment efforts.

“The wisdom and advice of alumni — particularly from our recent graduates — is extremely helpful to prospective students and their families,” said Director of Alumni Relations Chris Aaland.

The Alumni Ambassador program also enhances the Alumni Association’s mission to strengthen the bond between Fort Lewis College, alumni, students, and the community. Alumni volunteers have the opportunity to make a real difference and help Fort Lewis beyond what it could achieve alone.

“There’s no better way for alumni to stay active than to get involved with the Alumni Ambassadors program,” Aaland added.
