The Fort Lewis College Office of Career Services has a new software program that will allow students, alumni, and employers to find one another.
“As alumni you are welcome to use the new program that we are calling Skyhawks’ Job Source in three ways,” said Director of Career Services Allyn Talg.
Students and alumni must first register as a candidate on this system.
“To do so, you will need to contact Career Services for verification of your status as an alumnus so that we can add you to the list of approved candidates,” said Talg.
Employers are welcome to complete the employer profile thereby receiving permission to post positions. In some cases, they will be able to search the database for candidates for open positions.
Alumni can also sign up as mentors, allowing them to discuss career fields and other concerns regarding job issues with current students and fellow alumni.
“As a mentor, you will be able to define how, for what purposes, and by whom you would like to be contacted,” said Talg.
“The Skyhawks’ Job Source program is a great way for FLC alumni to get connected with other alumni in the same field and career interests and is also a great way to help current FLC students toward a successful career path,” said Abby Driscoll (’00), chair of the Alumni Association’s Alumni Service Committee. “It takes just minutes to set up a profile and get connected with other alumni!”
The system can be accessed now by using any of these three links: www.myinterfase.com/fortlewis/student (for those who wish to search for jobs), www.myinterfase.com/fortlewis/employer (for those who wish to post vacancies and/or search for candidates), or www.myinterfase.com/fortlewis/mentor (for those who wish to sign up as a mentor).
“The sooner we get you registered, the more effective the system will be for everyone,” said Talg.
