Volunteers Needed

Alumni Board of Directors
Take a place on the front line when it comes to Alumni Association fundraising, elections, events and activities.  Directors are elected by popular vote each fall, and serve four-year terms.  Four new directors will be elected this fall.  The deadline for nominations for the 2007 election is Friday, August 17, 2007.  The election will begin the following week, with ballots posted online.  The election will close on Friday, October 19, 2007.

Area Chapter and Alumni Gathering Organizer
Have you noticed lots of FLC stickers in car windows in your area?  Round up these alumni and start an Alumni Association chapter or help organize an alumni gathering in your area.  In the past two years, the Alumni Association and Office of Alumni Relations have sponsored events in Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Denver, Tucson, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere.

Homecoming
Contribute your ideas for floats, pre- and post-game activities or anything else you'd like to do in the spirit of Homecoming.

Skyhawks' Job Source
The Career Services Office has a new online program called Skyhawks' Job Source.  This program allows current students, alumni and employers to interact.  Students and alumni can post their resumes, seek career advice and search for jobs.  Alumni can also sign up as mentors, allowing them to discuss career fields and other concerns regarding job issues with current students and fellow alumni.  Once they have completed their employer profile, employers can post vacant positions and, in some cases, search the database for candidates. For more information, contact Director of Career Services Allyn Talg at talg_a@fortlewis.edu or 970-247-7562.

Student Recruitment
Do you want to help Fort Lewis College recruit the best students from your community?  The Office of Admission offers a program called Alumni Ambassadors, which engages alumni with prospective students in their hometowns.  Ambassadors will be asked to call and email prospective students to answer their questions about FLC and Durango, help with college fairs, and even throw going-away parties for new freshmen each fall.  For more information, contact Director of Admission Andrew Burns at burns_a@fortlewis.edu or 970-247-7180.
