Foundation Testimonials

As the Fort Lewis College Foundation works to enrich the educational and cultural opportunities at the College they are often contacted with words of thanks from past recipients of grant and scholarship funds.

The Office of the Foundation works with both students, in the realm of scholarships, and faculty with grant monies being awarded.

Within the following testimonials it is evident that these monies have indeed been wise investments in the leaders of tomorrow.

Whether in the field, in the classroom, or engaging professionals through a presentation, Fort Lewis College Geology Major Meghan Marsters has risen to the occasion.

Marsters is a recent recipient of the William R. Thurston Geology Scholarship through the Fort Lewis College Foundation Office.  Marsters is quick to state that it was through the help of Thurston’s generous support of the College’s Geology Department that she has been able to become one of Fort Lewis’ top scholars, “Through their support I’ve been able to focus on my studies without distraction.  I’ve been able to put in the time as a teacher’s assistant as well as travel to conferences and earn valuable experience through work study.”

Meghan Marsters graduated from Fort Lewis College in April of 2008 and will no doubt bring the lessons she’s learned through field study and classroom dedication into the working world.
