Field Trips:

1.      Mesa Verde (3/4 day).  Guided tour among the famed Ancestral Puebloan ruins.  ____  at $25

2.      Durango-Silverton Railroad. Half-day ride on the historic narrow gauge railroad to spectacular Cascade Canyon.  _____  at $20 

3.      Four Corners Archaeological Sites (all day).  Spend a day with Four Corners Archeologist Dr. Mark Varien, Director of Research at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.  Mark will lead the group to his favorite isolated Ancestral Puebloan sites located on the Utah-Colorado border just north of the Four Corners.  This trip will include some rigorous hiking.  _____ at $25

Barbara Lawrence Award

 

A Cash prize of $300 will be given based on superior student research judged on the basis of written and oral presentation.  Dr. Elizabeth Wing instituted this award in 1987 in honor of the pioneering zooarchaeologist.   Papers submitted for the Lawrence Award must be designated as such on the Abstract Form.  Complete manuscripts should be sent to the address below by February 26th, 2001.
