Discussion
Our hypothesis was disproved.
Ethyl alcohol inhibited growth only minimally.
However, this does help to prove that the growth inhibition caused by the creosote solution was not due to the presence of ethyl alcohol.
The creosote solution showed the most effectiveness against the growth of E. coli bacteria.
The lemon juice solution worked well for the first three days possibly due to the acidic pH. After three days the pH may have changed allowing for the bacteria to move in and colonize the area.
The Aloe vera juice did not visibly inhibit growth.
Not only did the wheat grass juice not inhibit growth it may have actually enhanced the growth. It is easy to observe large colonies of bacteria concentrated on the area where the wheatgrass juice dripped off of its disk onto the agar medium.
Further test should be done on the creosote bush and its medicinal properties.
