KEEP YOUR CAREER ON TRACK WITH OUR EXPERIENCED ADVICE

Career Services helps prepare students for the transition from college to the world of work.  We connect students and alumni with employers seeking qualified applicants and we provide the tools necessary for career exploration.  We strongly encourage students to meet our Career Services experts as early as your first year at Fort Lewis College.

From our experience we recommend the following sample steps during your academic career:

First Year                  Create a resume
                                    Join a club or organization
                                    Volunteer on campus or in the community
                                    Maintain your GPA & meet with your advisor

Sophomore Year    Continue your extracurricular activities
                                    Review skills, interests & experience, before declaring a major
                                    Conduct informational interviews & establish your network
                                   
Explore Study Abroad & Innovative Month opportunities

 Junior Year             Pursue leadership roles in your club or organization
                                   
Explore graduate schools & career-related internships
                                   
Continue building your career network & GPA
                                   
Attend Career Services fairs, workshops and special events

 Senior Year             Update resume from internship/summer job experience
                                    Complete another internship
