Fort Lewis College has 100 spots for alumni, current students, faculty/staff, their families and significant others, and FLC supporters to ride as the Fort Lewis College Road Scholars Team on May 23rd 2015.

By joining the Fort Lewis College Road Scholars Team, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Special edition Fort Lewis College Road Scholars Team jersey for Citizens Tour riders and a special edition t-shirt for Quarter Horse Purgatory riders. 
  • Tax-deductible donation to the IHBC Scholarship Fund.
  • The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic will contribute to the IHBC Scholarship fund for every Road Scholar's registration.
  • Road Scholars celebration along with IHBC charity partners. 

McDonald's Citizens Tour details - REGISTER HERE

What: McDonald's Citizen Tour (50 miles from Durango to Silverton)
When: Saturday May 23rd, 2015, 8:00 a.m.
Where: College Ave. and Camino del Rio
How much: $205 for registration fee, jersey and a tax-deductible donation

Return Transportation: Riders who need return transportation from Silverton can purchase a return trip at the time of registration. Bikes are also transported. Bike pickup is 2 - 7:00 p.m. at Durango High School, Main Ave. and 25th. Charge is $40, and space is limited. Riders are not allowed to ride back from Silverton.

All riders must be past Coal Bank Pass Summit by 11:30 AM and Molas Pass by 12:30 PM. Riders not past those points will be transported by bus to Silverton, and their bikes will be trucked. Roads open to vehicles at 1:00pm and all riders must be off by then! Riders are not allowed to ride back to Durango.

Quarter Horse Tour details - REGISTER HERE

What:  Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Quarter Horse (25 miles from Durango to Purgatory)
When: Saturday May 23rd, 2015, 8:30 a.m. 
Where: College Ave. and Camino del Rio
How much: $100 for registration fee, t-shirt, and a donation to the scholarship fund

Return Transportation: Must book and pay in advance through Durango Mountain Resort by calling 970-426-7282. Cost is $20 per person. If folks want to go from Silverton to DMR to Transit Center the cost will be $30.

Durango Mountain Resort has a fantastic festival planned for all Quarter Horse riders, their families, friends and guests. Plenty of food and entertainment will be available so make sure you stick a credit card or some cash in your jersey before setting out for your ride. A manned bike check will also be available so that you can secure your bike, change clothes and enjoy the festival.
