EC Getting Busy with Tour de Fat

Students from the Environmental Center will be staffing the recycling and compost stations on Saturday at the Tour de Fat Bicycle Festival at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.  The event starts at 10 a.m. with a bicycle parade and continues all day with music from the solar-powered stage.


The Latest:  Fort Lewis College is looking for two students to serve on the Coordinating Committee for its Sustainability Action Plan.  Deadline is next Wednesday, September 24th at Noon.  Download an application and return it to the Environmental Center.

 There will be a public meeting on Monday, March 10, to discuss travel management and oil and gas leasing issues included in the San Juan public Lands Draft Land Management Plan. Forest Service and BLM officials will be available to discuss other issues, as requested. FLC College Union Ballroom from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Building on last semester's 3-2-1 Sustainability Initiative, the EC will be working with the President's Advisory Council on Environmental Affairs (PACEA) to draft a Sustainability Action Plan for the college.  The plan will lay out a timetable to Fort Lewis to become climate neutral, reduce waste, and increase its eco-friendly purchases as a college.  Find our more...
