Students Seize the Future

What: In February students from the Environmetnal Center connected with other student activists from around the country while attending two conferences.  The first was the Rocky Mountain Sustainability Summit in Boulder, Colorado that brought together students, staff, and faculty working on campus sustainability issues from around the Rocky Mountain region.  The second conference was Powershift Conference in Washington DC, which brought together 12,000 students to discuss their work on climate change, rally at the Capitol, and meet with lawmakers.  Students Amber Brisson, Monica Erickson, Susan Ilitch, Coral Hackler, Zachary Ray and Alex Pullen will discuss their experience, new directions for student activism, and their work on Fort Lewis College's Sustainability Action Plan.
