Step 5: Approving the Plan
This fall meetings with students, staff, and faculty will take place for each section of the action plan to gather feedback and decide on priorities. Final revisions to the plan will take place in late fall. The hope is not only to have President Bartel approve the plan, but to build widespread awareness about the plan and generate support from across campus.
As part of this effort, the College is launching its new Pathways to Sustainability initiative that will help to coordinate all its work on campus sustainability. Eventually Pathways to Sustainability will be the hub for questions, advice, and engagement on campus and help tell the sustainability story for the College.
One of the first aspects of the program will be signs in the three new green buildings on campus. With Animas Hall waiting for its LEED-certification (hopefully at the level of LEED-Gold) and two more LEED buildings under construction, educating the campus community, as well as visitors, about the College's sustainability commitment will be a priority.
