La Boca - Internship, Durango, CO:
La Boca is an integrated organic farming method llama ranch and garden-farming operation with connections to local colleges. They are located 30 miles south of Durango, CO on 180 acres along a mile of the Los Pinos River where they work to live in harmony with our Grandmother Earth and each other. La Boca is looking for interns in sustainable (bio-dynamic) ag & animal husbandry, as well as their work on local food systems. Interns will spend most of their time in garden related activities, while living in shelter by the river and using the out door kitchen and clay oven. Environmental Education Teacher/Trip Leader - The Chewonki Foundation is located on the coast of Maine and has open positions for environmental education at it summer camp. Teachers will lead trips into Chewonki's Outdoor Classroom and will offer lessons in areas such as natural history, sustainability, group challenges, kayaking, canoeing, photography, art, hiking, and sailing. Applicants must have a degree in natural sciences, outdoor recreation, or a related field and will receive a biweekly salary, room and board, health insurance, and some paid vacation. Ecology Educator/Naturalist with Ferry Beach Ecology School in Saco, Maine. This job is open to undergraduate and post-graduate students with a desire to share ecological knowledge with children in grades 3-8. Deer Hill Expeditions Deer Hill Expeditions offers a unique and powerful blend of wilderness expeditions and communtiy service programs for 7th through 12th grade students. Since 1984, we have guided young people to some of the most wild and beautiful landscapes in the American Southwest and Costa Rica. Deer Hill's expeditions range from 15 to 34 days with each program groups according to age. Deer Hill offers three areas of employment opportunity: field staff, internships, and apprenticeships.
Southwest Conservation Corps To empower individuals to positively impact their lives, their communities and the environment. The Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC), founded as a non-profit agency in 1998, provides young women and men with structured, safe and challenging work and educational opportunities through employment projects that promote person growth, the development of social skills, and an ethic of natural resource stewardship. SCC annually serves 250 young people in a variety of programs. The SCC program model, built upon the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s, incorporates guiding principles of experiential learning, respect, oppenness and willingness, commitment, responsibility, pride, excellence, health and safety, and fun.
USDA Forest Service: San Juan Public Lands The San Juan Public Lands encompass some 2.5 million acres managed by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, stretching acorss five Colorado counties in the southwestern corner of the state. This terrain ranges from hihg-desert mesas to alpine peaks, with thousands of miles of back roads and hundres of miles of trails to explore. These federal lands are managed for multiple uses; visitors are asked to respect each other and the natural resources.

Student Conservation Association The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is a nonprofit organization that offers conservation internships and summer trail crew opportunities to more than 3,000 people each year nationwide. SCA is focused on developing conservation and community leaders while getting important work done on the land.
Green Corps: Field School for Environmental Organizing The one-year Green Corps program intersperses intensive classroom instruction with multiple campaign efforts. Trainees gain hands-on experience running field campaigns to win environmental protections and public health initiatives. Throughout the year, each trainee receives specific individualized feedback on all.aspxects of his or her work, as well as local mentorship from environmental organizers throughout the nation. At the end of the training, the Green Corps program facilitates trainees' placement in permanent positions with leading environmental and social change groups.
Northwest Connections Northwest Connections engages in community based projects which assist land managers and private land owners in better understanding, conserving, and restoring critical habitats and habitat connections in the Swan Valley and surrounding areas. They are exploring new ways to integrate local knowledge and conventional scientific processes in the conservation of Montana's rural forest lands.
NOAA Student Opportunities The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is a federal agency focused on the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere. The National Wildlife Federation The National Wildlife Federation inspires Americans to protect wildlife for our children's future. Natural Resources Defense Council Natural Resources Defense Council is the nation's most effective environmental action organizations. They use law, science and the support of 1.2 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and the snure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. Ecological Society of America The Ecological Society of America (ESA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to: promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists; raise the public's level of awareness of the importance of ecological science; increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science; and ensure the appropriate use of ecological science in environmental decision-making by enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers. Northwest Service Academy The Northwest Service Academy is an environmental service organization with centers in Portland, Oregon and Trout Lake, Washington. Their members do hands-on watershed restoration, environmental education, trail construction, resource conservation and volunteer mobilization projects throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Americorps AmeriCorps is a national network of programs that engages more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in communities throughout the nation.
