Colorado Climate Center - The Colorado Climate Center is part of the Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University. It's goal is to assist the state of Colorado in monitoring climate over time scales of weeks to years.

 

Dooda-Desert Rock - Native American group opposing the construction of the Desert Rock Energy Project.

 

Four Corners Air Quality Monitoring Task Force - The States of New Mexico and Colorado have convened an Air Quality Task Force to work on the air quality issues and challenges facing the Four Corners region.

 

Western Regional Climate Center Summaries for Towns in Colorado - This site provides detailed summaries of daily and monthly precipitation data from 1960 to the present. Summaries are provided in graphical and tabular formats. A great resource!

Clean Air Cool Planet - Clean Air-Cool Planet creates partnerships in the Northeast to implement solutions to climate change and build constituencies for effective climate policies and actions. Clean Air-Cool Planet (CA-CP) is the Northeast's leading organization dedicated to finding and promoting solutions to global warming

 

Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative (EJCC) - The Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative is a diverse, consensus-based group of U.S. environmental justice, climate justice, religious, policy, and advocacy networks working together to promote just and meaningful climate policy.

 

EPA - The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people.

 

Focus the Nation - Focus the Nation is coordinating teams of faculty and students at over a thousand colleges, universities and K-12 schools in the United States, to collaboratively engage in a nationwide, interdisciplinary discussion about “Global Warming Solutions for America”.  Focus the Nation is based in educational institutions, but also is engaging Americans in their churches, mosques, synagogues, businesses and civic organizations. The intent is to focus the growing concern in the country about global warming, and to create a serious, sustained and truly national discussion about clean energy solutions, linking students and citizens directly with our political leaders.

 

Middlebury College - In Middlebury, Vermont, Middlebury College is one of the country's top liberal arts colleges. It offers its students a broad curriculum embracing the arts, humanities, literature, foreign languages, social sciences, and natural sciences.

 

National Climate Data Center - The Center has long served the Nation as a national resource for climate information. NCDC's data is used to address issues that span the breadth of this Nation's interests.  In Colorado the National Climate Data Center Partners with The Colorado Climate Center (below) and the Western Regional Climate Center (also below) to provide a wide variety of weather data.

NOAA-CIRES Climate Diagnostic Center - The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has partnered with the University of Colorado and CIRES to produce this site. The goal of their work is to develop the ability to predict important climate variations on various time scales.

 

Step it Up! - On April 14, 2007, a citizen's movement was launched. On November 3rd we'll see which of our politicians will join us in taking on the greatest challenge of our time.  This is an organizing hub for a National Day of Climate ActionNovmber 3rd, 2007.

 

Western Regional Climate Center - The mission of the Western Regional Climate Center is to disseminate high quality climate data and information pertaining to the western United States; foster better use of this information in decision-making; conduct applied research related to climate issues; and improve the coordination of climate-related activities at state, regional and national scales.

International Panel on Climate Change - Recognizing the problem of potential global climate change, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988.  The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.

 

Kyoto Protocol - This international agreement, which builds on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, sets legally binding targets and timetables for cutting the greenhouse-gas emissions of industrialized countries.
