It is designed to both increase the skill level of those professionals and Board Members already in the nonprofit sector, while providing a necessary and proven skill-set required for those participants who have an interest in, or are considering nonprofit management as a possible career choice. The course will emphasize creative approaches, effective and proven strategies and necessary administrative skills for achieving organizational goals. Examples of course content include: strategic master planning, community based and foundation fundraising (where the money is and now to get it), board development, building community support through innovative marketing techniques and creatively designed special events, public and media relations and working with our legislator (Representative Ellen Roberts) to effect policy change. Well known and influential decision makers who are recognized as experts from our area and from the state level have been invited as guest speakers to present throughout the course. Fall 2007 was the first time “Nonprofit Management, Making a Difference” was offered, and the course filled to capacity. Early registration is advised. The Fall 2008 course has been strategically re-designed to support the specific needs of nonprofit organizations in our area. Bob Over, MS, a Managing Partner of “Partners for Dynamic Solutions,” has 35 years of successfully managing and growing nonprofit organizations on national, state-wide and community based levels. His concentration has been on designing and implementing creative strategies that provide the means for growing program capacity, building organizational strength and long term sustainability, as well as designing and directing multi-million dollar campaigns and building new facilities. Special emphasis has been on working with organizations that have a strong desire to grow and offer urgently needed services and opportunities to their community.
