Cynthia Dott
Dr. Dott received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from Colorado College, a M. S. degree in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin. She has worked for Fort Lewis College since 2002. Dr. Dott’s general expertise is in plant community ecology, with emphasis on the impacts of disturbance on vegetation. Her specific research interests include, but are not limited to (1) riparian community dynamics on the Colorado Plateau, with emphasis on the interplay among geomorphic processes, natural disturbance, and human-induced disturbance such as livestock grazing (2) disturbance and exotic species invasion in shrub-steppe, mountain shrub and pinyon-juniper systems on the Colorado Plateau, and (3) relationships between exotic species invasion and site history.
