Rob Milofsky

Robert Milofsky received his B.S. in 1987 from Bates College (Lewiston, ME, USA) and his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 1991 from the University of Colorado (Boulder, CO, USA).  His graduate work focused on the kinetics, mechanism and analytical applications of photoinitiated peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence.  After graduation, from June 1991 to June 1992, he worked with Edward S. Yeung as a postdoctoral research fellow at Ames Laboratory (Iowa State University, Ames, IA, USA) developing laser-induced fluorescence detection schemes for capillary electrophoresis (CE).  In 1992, he joined the faculty at Fort Lewis College (Durango, CO  USA) where he is presently Professor of Chemistry.  His research interests include electrically driven liquid phase separations, photochemical reaction detection and chemiluminescence.  While at Fort Lewis College, he has developed methods for the selective and sensitive detection of numerous environmentally important and biologically significant species.  In addition to his faculty appointment at Fort Lewis College, he is the R&D Manager of S&S Chemical (Durango, CO, USA) where he has helped developed a series of poly-alphaolefins for use in waxes, inks, dyes, and cosmetics.
