This program in open to all - freshmen, sophomores, juniors & seniors. Space is very limited - don't delay if interested.
This class ALWAYS fill up!

Course Options (7 credits):

  • MKT 362 Marketing & Tourism in the Cruise Industry (3 credits) 
  • ECON 378 Topics in Economics: Cruise Industry (4 credits)

For students who do not need both of the above courses and with Dr. Walls' approval: 

  •      BA 392 Research Topics (3 credits)

Note to SOBA Students:  All credits can be applied towards graduation.

TOTAL COST (Best Faith Estimate):  $3,206*

  * Native Tuition Waiver applies for qualified students;
      $945 Tuition is waived, making Total Cost $2,261

     Payment Schedule:      

$500 Nonrefundable Deposit  DUE to FLC Cashier Upon Application

$886 Fixed Costs DUE to FLC Cashier by January 31, 2013
Includes hotel in Cape Liberty, cruise fees, government fees & port taxes, and transfers.

$1,120 Tuition & Fees ** DUE to FLC Cashier by April 1, 2013
  **  If you are eligible for Native American Waiver, you will pay 
         just $175 (fees for 7 credits) 

Out of Pocket Costs (included in estimated total cost):  $700 for travel to port, field trip, entertainment and gratuities are to be paid by each student separately at the time of purchase.

Other potential costs:  Passport, Visa, Travel Insurance, Immunizations, spending money for recreation, souvenirs, extra food/snacks. (ask Dr. Walls for clarification)

Registration:

Your first step is to contact faculty to be accepted in the Innovative Month Program. Next, visit the FLC Cashier in Berndt Hall to pay your deposit. Complete the registration form (linked above)  -- registrations and payments CANNOT be done on WebOpus. Completed forms are to be delivered to to the Office of Continuing Education as soon as possible.

We strongly recommend you contact faculty and/or your academic advisor to verify the offered courses are compatible with your degree track.
