Designed for the whole family!
Creating an EdVenture Together will immerse participants in the world of experiential, nature-based education. Through a combination of activities, lecture, and discussion, parents, grandparents, guardians, and mentors of elementary-aged children will take away a variety of educational tools to create meaningful and memorable outdoor learning experiences for their children.
The Thursday evening session is intended just for adults and will provide a foundation on how to create an environment of learning and opportunities for authentic growth, as well as an introduction to rich, contextually-relevant children’s literature and fun activities.
On Friday (a no-school day for School District 9R), children AND adults will head out to the field for a day of EdVenture where we’ll have an opportunity to put our newly acquired tools and activities to use! We ask that participants come with a spirit of exploration and discovery.
What to bring:
Thursday Evening (adult class): Notepad, pen/pencil, a covered drink and dinner
Friday (fieldtrip): Field clothing appropriate for weather conditions and a backpack containing your lunch, snacks, water, notepad & pen/pencil.
