Beginning Facebook

This course is aimed at people who are not currently on Facebook, or those who have set up a profile but don’t know how to use it effectively. 


Are you curious about the social network called Facebook?

Would you like to join the Facebook community,
but are worried about your privacy?

Is the whole idea a little overwhelming?

In this course, we’ll look at Facebook from the beginning: from signing up to connecting with your friends and family and following brands that you support. We’ll also discuss privacy settings and how to protect yourself in the digital world.

Students who bring laptops will be able to participate in real time, but they are not necessary. If you plan to bring a laptop to class, please see instructions in the right sidebar of this page - ADVANCE set up is required. 

 

If you are a Professional Nonprofit Management Certificate Program participant, these class hours are applicable to your certificate. To learn more about PNMCP, see information in the right sidebar of this page.

Lindsay Nyquist

Lindsay is the Social Media Coordinator for Fort Lewis College, does independent social media consulting through elle jay design, and has completed the Advanced Social Media course from the American Marketing Association. She has been in the Durango area for 12 years and lives in town with her husband, dog and kitten. When not glued to a computer, iPad, or phone, Lindsay takes pleasure in distance running, snowshoeing, and enjoying the mountains.

Registration Discount:

Receive $5 off your registration fee when your registration is paid a least seven days before the class start date. (Discount is applicable to local, noncredit classes only)

Using Your Laptop on Campus

To use a laptop at FLC, "guest pre-certification" is required. BEFORE the first day of class, please refer to instructions here. To complete the final step, plan to arrive on campus 10 minutes prior to class. Limited class time does not allow Continuing Ed instructors to assist with this, nor is it the instructor’s area of expertise.

Professional Nonprofit Management Certificate Program

To get started in the Professional Nonprofit Management Certificate Program, submit a PNMCP Registration Form. Payment may be submitted via our secure online store here.

Individual nonprofit management classes are offered in conjunction with the Professional Nonprofit Management Certificate Program. For pre-registered PNMCP students, class attendance hours apply toward a Certificate in Professional Nonprofit Management.

PNMCP students can use CE's Attendance Log to track their progress as they work toward completion of the required 50 hours of in-class participation. You may open and save the log form as a Word document or as an Adobe document.
