Etiquette Dinner

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

The Etiquette Dinner provides students the unique opportunity to learn about professional business etiquette and to network with business professionals.  Since its inception, the Etiquette Dinner has become one of the most popular events on-campus.

Employers

The Etiquette Dinner is an excellent recruiting and networking venue.  Employers have the opportunity to meet students and discuss the realities of the recruiting processes, all in a professional learning environment. Most of the students who participate are graduating seniors (within one year of graduation).

The Etiquette Dinner takes place the evening prior to the annual Career Day. The number of tables available for sponsorship is limited, so early registering is encouraged.

Details & Registration

Students

This is an exciting learning experience and an opportunity to meet with employers who may be recruiting for their organization. There is a nominal $10 commitment cost to students to participate.  Students are highly encouraged to research the employer with whom they will be seated.

You will learn appropriate etiquette for professional dining and learn how to:

  • Connect with hiring managers
  • Navigate Social Encounters
  • Deconstruct a Formal Place Setting
  • Enjoy Cuisine in Style
  • Tips for Success
  • Make an Appropriate Toast
  • Interviews - What Not to Do

Faculty and Staff

Students who participate in the annual Etiquette Dinner are required to pay a nominal $10 commitment fee to cover their meal cost. Many faculty and staff have used the scholarship as away to recognize and encourage a top senior or loyal work study student to participate in this event. Last year almost half of the students attending received a $10 scholarship. We invite you to sponsor one or more students!

Click Here to register your sponsorship, or contact Career Services, ext. 7562.

This year we have made arrangements with the FLC Foundation to handle the sponsorships making them tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to the Fort Lewis College Foundation with Etiquette Dinner notation.

Thanks for your participation!
