The New Teacher Fair Program!

The new and improved Teacher Fair at Fort Lewis College offers an exciting opportunity to recruiters and future teachers to meet in an informal setting.

This event for employers and students has several purposes

  • To introduce the field of teaching to students and others who are considering teaching as a career
  • To learn about the Fort Lewis College Teacher Education programs
  • To announce vacancies for permanent positions
  • To interview candidates for teaching positions
  • To provide information about your school district and career paths

Teacher Education Department Presentation:  from 3:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.  Memorial Student Lounge  RECRUITERS ONLY

The Teacher Education Department will showcase the programs offered to the school district recruiters.

Recption:  from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Ballroom, College Union Building

The reception is open to all school district recruiters, teacher candidates, current students, and community members. It is an opportunity for any student or community member who is considering teaching as a career to learn more about the field of education.  Recruiters can provide information about their school districts, the application process, the training required, benefits and pay to interested students.  

Candidates who have preregistered through the Career Services Office may sign up for interviews for Tuesday, April 14, 2009.  Candidates may also sign up for interviews on-line through the Skyhawks Job Source.

Interviews

On Tuesday, April 14, 2009 beginning at 8:00 A.M. candidates - defined as Teacher Education students who have completed or are in the process of completing their student teaching, and who have pre-registered with the Career Services Office - can participate in the very important interview process.

School District/Employer Information

  • The fees for school districts are $45 for the first recruiter, $20 for each additional recruiter. We recommend no more than 2 recruiters from each district.  Please contact the Career Services Office with any questions about this recommendation.

Student / Alumni / Non-alumni Information

  • Candidates must be either currently student teaching or already have completed their teaching certificates.
  • There is no fee for Fort Lewis College students or alumni.  There is a $25 fee for non-FLC students/alumni.
