The EC’s Board of Directors provides long-term vision for the center, builds community between the board, staff, and volunteers, organizes fundraisers, and works on improving the center’s work.
A student-majority on the board ensures the Center meets student needs. Representatives from the faculty help connect the EC to the academic life of the college. Community representatives bring a wealth of connections to the center. A Fort Lewis College staff representative adds a cross-campus perspective to the mix. For all the details, read the latest version of the EC's bylaws.
The EC Board has a retreat in September and meets every two weeks during the school year.
Applications for the student board positions are accepted in the spring for the next school year. Students on the board assume a greater level of responsibility and leadership for the center and gain an understanding of what it takes to run an environmental non-profit organization.
