Students who graduate with a degree in Exercise Science will be able to:

  • Apply best practices when solving problems of real-world scenarios.
  • Analyze the scholarly research in the field.
  • Communicate effectively (orally and in written form) the issues and concerns of the field.
  • Evaluate the process of research design including problem identification, control of threats to scientific validity, experimental design, sampling procedures and thesis development.

In addition students in Sport Administration option will:

  • Apply best practices in organization and administration of sport and exercise related programs in the public and private sector.

In addition students in Exercise Specialist option will:

  • Demonstrate the application of best practices in organization and administration of sport and exercise related programs in the public and private sector.
  • Will be able to analyze human movement and/or prepare exercise prescription for diverse populations.
  • Be competent personal trainers as demonstrated by their successful completion of certification by the National Council on Strength and Fitness.

In addition students in Exercise Physiology option will:

  • Will be able to analyze human movement and/or prepare exercise prescription for diverse populations
  • Be competent candidates for national certification in Exercise Physiology.
  • Be prepared for graduate school.

In addition students in K-12 Teaching option will:

  • Demonstrate the application of best practices in organization and administration of sport and exercise related programs in the public and private sector.
  • Will be able to analyze human movement and/or prepare exercise prescription for diverse populations
  • Demonstrate competence by successful completion of the requirements for teacher licensure.
