Dr. Erickson began her career at Fort Lewis College in 1998. Prior to that she was a Certified Athletic Trainer in several public schools in Texas and New Mexico. She was responsible for designing the Athletic Training Education Program at FLC for initial accreditation in 2002. She currently teaches Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Physical Activity and Aging and Administration of Programs in Athletic Training. Dr. Erickson received a BS from Ithaca College, an MS from Indiana State University and a PhD from the University of New Mexico. |

Jim Cross is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science at Fort Lewis College. He has been an educator and coach throughout his career and has been at FLC since 1988. He teaches courses in Exercise Physiology, Sport Sociology, Coaching, Sport Ethics, Sport in Film and the Science of Sport Performance. He came to Fort Lewis after five years at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.(1983-88) Jim was a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Queens College in New York (1982-83) and he began his teaching and coaching career at the Fieldston School in New York City (1974-82). He holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Springfield College in Springfield, MA and an M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Queens College in Flushing, NY. He has served as the Faculty Senate President (2009-12) and the Faculty Representative to the FLC Board of Trustees (2004-06).
He is an eleven time consecutive defending world champion (2001-11) in a unique athletic event called the “My Triathlon” (sculling, golf & tennis) which he created so that he could win. He will come out of retirement for any truly worthy opponents.

Mark Dutro has been an instructor in the Fort Lewis College Exercise Science Department since 2002. He teaches classes in personal health, fitness and wellness, K-12 physical education teaching, coaching, and a variety of skill and fitness activities. He is also head men’s and women’s cross country coach as of July 2, 2012.
Mr. Dutro received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Kansas State University in 1982 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Wichita State University in 1987. He received his Master of Arts degree in Physical Education from the University of Iowa in 1993. He previously earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Butler County Community College in 1979.

Terene Foutz Started teaching physical education courses for the Exercise Science Department in 2012. She has an AAS in Hospitality Management from Colorado Mesa University (CMU), a BBA in Business Management from CMU, and an MBA Emphasis in Organizational Leadership from CMU-Gonzaga University.
Ms. Foutz is a CrossFit Level I Certified Trainer. She is the current Executive Director (2007-present), of the USA Volleyball Program Four Corners Volleyball Club, Inc., comprising of fifteen volleyball teams, girls ages 9-18 years of age, amidst eleven school districts in northern New Mexico and southwest Colorado. She is current Camp Director of the Four Corners Volleyball Camps and the Jump Start Volleyball Position Training Camps. She is also an Assistant Volleyball Coach for the FLC Skyhawks. She is a former Head Volleyball Coach at Fruita Monument HIgh School, Ignacio High School, First Assistant Coach CMU Women's Volleyball, and Western CO Volleyball Club.

K-Lea Gifford

K-Lea Gifford is a second-generation Yoga instructor. She started practicing in 1986 and began training in the Iyengar method in 1990. K-Lea has studied in Pune, India with the Iyengars' several times and is certified at the Junior Intermediate Level 2. K-Lea was the founder/owner of two yoga studios in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Florida State University in 1986 and is a certified Advanced Alaya Process Practitioner. She teaches Yoga retreats and workshops in the United States and Canada |

Scott Sidner has been a teacher of a variety of subjects within several diverse educational settings. For seven years, he taught social studies and outdoor education as a public school teacher. In addition, for twelve summers he taught English to Japanese students in the U.S., Japan and Hawaii who were preparing to attend American colleges and universities. Scott has also worked as a wilderness instructor for several organizations leading kayaking, climbing, skiing, mountain biking and other wilderness based trips. Scott has enjoyed teaching outdoor education courses for the Exercise Science Department at Fort Lewis College for over 15 years. He looks forward to further advancing his knowledge in outdoor education so he can continue to enrich his FLC outdoor education classes. |
