Mission Statement

To foster a spirit of unity, cooperation and loyalty within the Fort Lewis College community.
To provide a means of interaction and communication among the employees of Fort Lewis College.
To provide a means through which Fort Lewis College employees may be represented and have a voice in making decisions which affect them directly.
To consider methods and means by which policies and overall working conditions may be improved, operating efficiency increased and make recommendations to administrative officers and faculty.
To promote the designated role and mission of the institution.
To promote a positive public image of state personnel throughout the community.

Monthly Meetings

Employee Council Advisory Board Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month from Noon - 1:00 p.m. in the Blue and Gold room of the College Union Building. Visitors and guests are always welcome. All Fort Lewis College Employees are members of the Employee Council. Classified and Exempt Staff are encouraged to join the Employee Council Advisory Board.

Staff Recognition:

S.T.A.R. (State Top Achievement Recognition) - These awards are presented at the end of the academic year at the Employee Appreciation Lunch.
Birthday Cards - Sent to all faculty and staff.
Fli-Hi Awards
Anyone who has observed an employee or student going above and beyond his/her job duty can submit a Fli-Hi Award for that person. The award forms are in the Human Resources Office in 210 Berndt Hall. Drawings are held at various times during the year from the submitted Fli-Hi Awards for $10 gift certificates to the Bookstore. The Fli-Hi Award form is available here in electronic format also.
