-- Bieri Named Street and Smith’s Preseason All-American --  

 

DURANGO, Colo. – October 12, 2006 – Fort Lewis College men’s basketball player, Tim Bieri (Berthoud/Berthoud) has been named to the 2006 NCAA Division II Street and Smith’s Preseason All-American honorable mention team.  

 

The senior is one of 40 athletes in the nation to receive the honors and the first Skyhawk to ever receive the distinction. Earlier this year, Bieri was named to the Preseason All-RMAC First Team and Preseason All-RMAC West Team.  

 

In the 2005-06 season, Bieri led the Skyhawks in scoring (18.9 ppg), rebounds (159), assists (73), blocks (50), steals (63), field goal percentage (53.4%), three-point field goals (68), and free-throw percentage (81.3%) in the 2005-06 season. The forward was also selected to the Second Team All-Region, First Team All-RMAC, and First Team All-RMAC West last season.  

 

The Skyhawks kickoff practices on Monday, October 16th, while their regular season starts November 17th when they play Dixie State College at 6 p.m.
