Summer Housing Options

On-campus Summer Housing is available in the Mears Apartment Complex for those who are current Fort Lewis College students or those who have been accepted for either the summer 2014 or Fall 2014 terms. Students do not need to be enrolled in summer classes to reside on campus but must meet the above criteria.

Summer applications are available in the Student Housing and Conference Services office (240 Miller Student Services Building), or email us (studenthousing@fortlewis.edu) and we will send one electonically.

Payment
Cost is per person per five-week housing block:

Mears Two-bedroom $690.00
Family Housing (One-bedroom) $755.00
Family Housing (Two-bedroom) $880.00
Interim Fee (between Summer and Fall terms) $300.00

 

 

 

Summer Student Housing is also available at a daily rate if your plans do not coincide with the blocks.  Please contact the Student Housing and Conference Services office for more information about this option.

Payment Deadlines
All housing bills are due and payable at the Cashier's Office by the first Census date of the summer semester - Friday, May 9, 2014.  Individual payment plans are available through the Cashier's Office.

Cancellation Policy
To cancel your housing assignment for a particular summer block, you must submit a written cancellation notice to the Housing Office.  You may email your cancellation to studenthousing@fortlewis.edu from your FLC email account, or you can fax a cancellation letter (please include your full name, FLC ID#, and signature) to the Housing Office at 970-247-7501.  Cancellations made prior to April 1 will forfeit $25 of the housing deposit.  Those applicants cancelling after April 1 will forfeit their entire $150 housing deposit.

If the occupant officially withdraws from the College during the contract period, the applicable room assessment will be based on a daily pro rata and the date of official check-out by the occupant.  If the withdraw or early termination occurs after 80% of the contract duration, no refund will be issued.  Please note that the billing will be determined by the date the student officially checks out of housing, rather than the date of withdraw.

Moving-In/-Out
Check-in for each Summer Housing Block will be held in the Mears Complex Office.  Students living on campus for the Spring 2014 semester may stay in their current assignment until check-in time on May 4, 2014.

At the end of Summer Housing Block 3, students must check out within 24 hours of taking their last final. The only exceptions will be those students who have received official notices that they have a confirmed on-campus assignment for Fall 2014. For those residents who meet this criteria and wish to stay on-campus from the end of their Summer Housing Block(s) to the beginning of fall semester, an additional $300.00 interim fee will be charged.
