Ways to Give

There are many ways to give to the Fort Lewis College that not only help create excellence but also contribute to your own personal and financial goals.  As you think about your commitment to the College, we hope you will consider the giving options described here.

You can designate your gift to benefit one or more areas of your choosing, or make an unrestricted gift, meaning the funds will be used where the need is greatest at the College.  Your final choice depends upon your personal priorities, financial status and charitable goals.

• Outright Gift

An outright gift is the simplest and most common way of making a contribution to Fort Lewis College, usually in the form of cash, check or credit card.

• Gifts of Securities and Other Appreciated Properties

The gift of common stock, bonds, certificates of deposit, real estate or other appreciated assets to Fort Lewis College can be tax-wise methods of making a contribution. • Matching Gifts

Many companies match gifts that equal, double or even triple employees’ gifts.  Many will also match gifts made by retired employees, directors and spouses. The employee must obtain the matching gift form from his or her employer and submit it to the college.

• Planned Giving

Through the Planning Giving program, your gift will benefit Fort Lewis College at a future date, allowing donors financial flexibility during their lifetimes.  Included in the program are bequests, life insurance, life income agreements, life estates and other deferred gifts.  For more information, visit our Planned Giving page.

• Life Insurance and Retirement Plan Assets

Donors may transfer life insurance policies to the Fort Lewis College as owner and beneficiary or name the College as the primary or secondary beneficiary under qualified retirement plans.
