National Society of Leadership and Success

Orientation & Leadership Training Day Speaker Broadcasts | Success Networking Teams

Toast to Leadership Dinner and Public Speaking Event, November 1, 2011

The National Society of Leadership and Success is a nationwide organization dedicated to creating long-term positive change in students’ lives. To achieve this, students attend presentations via videoconference by the nation’s top authors and speakers on topics related to leadership, vision creation, and goal setting. Students also benefit from additional leadership training and participation in peer coaching cohorts called Success Networking Teams. After completing the steps to be eligible for induction, students become lifelong members of the Society and receive their leadership certification. Members are eligible for monthly and annual awards and scholarships, have access to a collection of success and leadership materials, benefit from access to success coaches, and network with other student members on campus.

All Fort Lewis College students are invited to join The National Society of Leadership and Success and to participate in our dynamic, life-changing programs.

History
The National Society of Leadership and Success at Fort Lewis College, (also known as Sigma Alpha Pi, NSLS, or the Society) is a great example of student-led leadership on campus. In 2009 an FLC student, Tse Chi “Chad” Yen, introduced the Society to campus, and 63 students were inducted into the organization. In its second year it became a key program administered by staff in the Dr. Terry Bacon Leadership Center. Annie Willmon, Leadership Programs Coordinator, serves as the Society chapter advisor to provide structure and support for the student-led Executive Team to facilitate NSLS events and initiatives.
