Power Up! Improving your Quantitative, Analytical and Reasoning Skills
This series is designed for MARC scholars and guests with the aim to improve quantitative, analytical and reasoning skills. During this workshop series, participants will review a variety of quantitative skills, have opportunities to practice writing skills, build vocabulary and practice reading comprehension. We will also discuss the purpose and role of standardized tests, such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and how organizations use test results. Along the way, we will challenge ourselves with questions from Educational Testing Services and take a practice GRE. This is designed as an introductory workshop series and should not be the only source of preparation if you are planning to take the GRE.
Responsible Conduct of Research
During this nine part workshop we will explore aspects of current research regulations, accepted professional standards, and ethical considerations in both behavioral and biomedical research. MARC scholars will have the opportunity to summarize and analyze research papers, lead discussions for fellow scholars and engage in critical thinking thru exploration of case studies and online role-play. Upon completion, scholars will receive a certificate of participation.
