Andrew Homburg is in his second year at Fort Lewis College as a visiting instructor of vocal music.  His teaching load includes Concert Choir, Men’s Choir, Music Education Methods courses, Voice class and private voice lessons.  He graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a Ph.D. in Music Education/Curriculum and Instruction.  While at UMKC he performed and conducted many school and community vocal ensembles, music theatre and opera productions.  In addition to his teaching load as a graduate fellow at UMKC, Andrew continued performing with Armonia, an early music ensemble selected to perform in Miami, FL at the 2007 American Choral Directors Association’s (ACDA) National Convention.  Before beginning his graduate work, Andrew taught choral and general music for the public schools in Kansas and Missouri.  He remains an active proponent for choral music, especially male involvement in choral music.   Andrew has also been active in church as a choir director and music minister for over thirteen years.  He currently conducts the choir at First United Methodist Church.  Andrew’s most recent accolades include his research being selected for presentation at the National Music Educators Conference in Washington DC.
