Our Students

Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to enroll in NAIS courses. Of the over 700 Native students enrolled at Fort Lewis College in recent terms, around 122 tribes have been represented.  Native and Non-Native students are welcome to enroll and are encouraged to gain insights that contribute to improved intercultural relationships that often develop among students in our courses.

Approximately 30 students have declared the NAIS major and a steadily increasing number are declaring the NAIS minor.  They are a very diverse group, representing many tribal and social backgrounds.
