Wanbli Ota

Our Mission

Wanbli Ota means "Many Eagles" in the Lakota Language. We are a student-run, non-profit, organization at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.  Our goal is to promote cultural diversity on campus as well as in our surrounding communities.  Our events happen throughout the school year to organize and fund raise for these events.  Anyone is welcome to join Wanbli Ota!  Our meetings are at the Native American Center at 5:00pm on Tuesday.  We look forward to meeting you.

Hozhoni Days Powwow

Every year, in early spring we host the Hozhoni Days Powwow and Pageant. The event includes a month of pageantry, speakers, powwowing, and celebration of cultures. And, the crowning of Miss Hozhoni.
