The Tutor/Mentor Program is based in the STEM disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geosciences, Math and Physics and will support sophomores and new transfer students in courses in their major and in supporting STEM courses e.g. BIO 113, CHEM 250, etc.  Each tutor will be assigned to one gateway course in their major per semester.  Each tutor/mentor will have two sets of responsibilities:

  1. Attending the lab for one gateway course in his/her major and
  2. Serving as a tutor for both the course in their major and for auxiliary math and science courses required by their major.

The tutor/mentor will help all students in the major (freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors) to understand material in auxiliary courses as well as in courses in the major.  Each department will have a least two mentors assigned each semester.
