Outdoor Pursuits summits 3rd highest peak in North America

How did you spend your spring break? During Fort Lewis College's spring break in March, a team of students and Outdoor Pursuits staff tackled North America’s third-highest mountain, the 18,491-foot Pico de Orizaba, east of Mexico City in the state of Puebla. On Thursday, March 27th, the entire team -- eight students and two staff -- summited the volcano, after months of preparation and training.

Common Tweeting Experience upgrades Common Reading Experience

Some things never change: As happens every year, Freshman students this Fall will be reading, discussing, and writing about important and timely works of literature in FLC's signature Freshman-year academic program.

FLC Hockey team scores with campus and Durango community

In hockey-crazy Durango, having a new game in town is always welcome. And Durango has zealously welcomed the squad from Fort Lewis College as it brought collegiate hockey to the town's home ice. The 2013-14 season marks FLC Hockey's first season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. In the league, the Skyhawks play a 15-game schedule against teams from Colorado and New Mexico, including trips to Denver to challenge the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Colorado-Denver, to Albuquerque to face off against the University of New Mexico, and to Gunnison, Colorado, to take on nearby rival Western State Colorado University. Fort Lewis College and Tax Help Colorado to offer free tax preparation assistance

Running throughout the month of February, Fort Lewis College will host and help staff a site for Tax Help Colorado. Sponsored by the Piton Foundation and Colorado’s colleges and universities, Tax Help Colorado offers free income tax preparation for households making less than $50,000 per year
