FLC on Facebook launched for students!

Fort Lewis College is now offering a private Facebook community just for admitted and current students to make friends, share interests, and get involved on campus. Inigral’s Schools App on Facebook, allows students to create a separate “college only” profile to help students get connected to their virtual campus community.

FLC is dubbed “military friendly”

Fort Lewis College was recently designated a “military friendly school” by militaryfriendlyschools.com.

The site is a service of G.I. Jobs, a non-governmental clearinghouse of employment and education resources that help veterans transition from military to civilian life.

FLC students get a nod in making Durango one of the Best River Towns in America

In what will come as no surprise to anyone living in Durango, Outside Magazine named Durango one of the Best River Towns in America. More than 1,700 people cast their vote for Durango, with the multitude of activities on and off the water cited as reasons for the honor.

FLC welcomes students, new and old

Orientation is over. Students are moved in. Parents have headed back home. The Student Union and Student Life Center are bustling again. Lecture halls and labs are open for business. And the Fall 2012 semester is underway.
 
But the welcoming of students, both freshman and returning, isn't over yet.
 
Welcome Week runs this Monday through Friday, August 27 - 31, featuring events and activities every day that'll give students a chance to meet each other and get to know their new home here at FLC.

Incoming freshmen go out and get wild

Before heading to class for the Fall semester, several dozen freshmen students will explore and camp in the San Juan Mountains -- the ragged range of peaks visible to the north from campus. While they're out there, they'll also be get to know some of their new classmates and learn about the FLC culture.

Given the friendly and adventurous -- both athletically and intellectually -- culture here, a wilderness trip is the perfect way to get a first taste of life at Fort Lewis College. In the Peak Experiences program, new freshmen in groups of 10 challenge and enjoy themselves while on four day-backpacking trip before Freshman Orientation in August.
