Fort Lewis College Cycling is the top ranked team in the nation for the second year in a row. To celebrate, all Skyhawks and Skyhawk fans are invited to participate in the Tour de Fort, a bicycle parade around campus, on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The Tour de Fort begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Student Union Plaza.

For those wishing to ride in the parade, FLC Cycling jerseys will be awarded to the best costume and best bike and helmet decorations. No RSVP is necessary, just show up. There will also be free Tour de Fort t-shirts and cowbells while supplies last.

Following the 2.5-mile bike parade, a ceremony recognizing the remarkable FLC Cycling riders will be held. Concluding the evening will be a screening of “Race Against the Sky,” the documentary of the 2009 Leadville 100 race. The race was won by Lance Armstrong with the help of Fort Lewis College alumnus and former FLC Cycling head coach, Matt Shriver.

All of the Tour de Fort events are free and open to the public.
