Tour de France rider Tom Danielson to conduct Q&A at Fort Lewis College

DURANGO - The public is invited to get to know highest placing American in the 2011 Tour de France and Fort Lewis College alumnus, Tom Danielson. Tom will conduct a Q&A on Friday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. The tickets are free and can be picked up, first-come, first-served, at the Community Concert Hall beginning at 5 p.m. on the day of the event.

Tom Danielson is a strong supporter of Fort Lewis College, and its national powerhouse cycling team. In 2003, he started the Tom Danielson Cycling Scholarship fund at Fort Lewis. To date, the fund has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to FLC cyclists and helped bring some of the best riders in the world to Fort Lewis. That kind of talent has helped the FLC Cycling Team win 17 national championships and hold on to its top ranking in the nation.

The next day, Saturday, October 1, Tom will lead the Durango Fall Blaze Bicycle Tour, which begins and ends at the FLC Clocktower. The Fall Blaze is a fundraiser for the Tom Danielson Cycling Scholarship fund. For more information on the tour, visit
