Student professes love for Athletic Training program in national professional journal

"I became interested in athletic training when I took a basic principles of athletic training class," says John Jewell. "My professor's love for athletic training was evident, and her excitement for what she did made me want to see what athletic training was all about."

"Once I started, I couldn't imagine doing any other major," he adds.

Martha Stewart honors Art alumnus' business

Lyon was honored in October by Martha Stewart at the "2012 Martha Stewart Presents American Made Awards," at which Stewart and the editors of Martha Stewart Living magazine feted the 10 finalists in their search for “rising stars in a new generation of small-business owners."

Student wins big with Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway

Imagine if you could win a substantial college scholarship—by making a video and throwing some great football passes.

That’s exactly what happened to Jacob Desatoff, of Costa Mesa, California. Desatoff, a 22-year-old transfer student who will be enrolling in Fort Lewis College’s Adventure Education program this fall, won second place in the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway and was awarded a $23,000 tuition scholarship.

Desatoff entered the competition with a self-made one-minute video, titled “I’m a future educator,”
