Tour de Fort to celebrate FLC's second year atop the collegiate cycling rankings

Fort Lewis College Cycling is the top ranked team in the nation for the second year in a row. To celebrate, all Skyhawks and Skyhawk fans are invited to participate in the Tour de Fort, a bicycle parade around campus, on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The Tour de Fort begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Student Union Plaza.

Club sports: Where everyone can play!

"Club Sports give students an opportunity to play a sport at a high level without the time commitment expected by varsity sports," says Assistant Director of Intramurals & Club Sports Brandon DenHartog. "Club Sports enhance a student's total educational experience, thus creating a more 'complete' person – more capable, skillful, and diverse."

FLC's Tom Danielson finishes 9th in 2011 Tour de France

One of Fort Lewis College’s own, Tom Danielson, placed ninth in the world’s biggest bike race, the Tour de France, over the weekend. Tom, who rode for Team Garmin-Cervelo, placed 8 minutes, 15 seconds behind race winner Cadel Evans. His finish was the highest finish by an American rider.

Danielson scholarship fuels FLC Cycling

Tom Danielson left a lingering mark on Fort Lewis College. While a Business Administration major from 1997 - 2002, he raced for the FLC Cycling Team and in 2002 won an individual national championship in mountain biking while leading the team to one of its 16 national titles.
